Building Control Regulations

Whatever type of building project you’re involved in, you need to make sure it’s compliant with building regulations and will stand up to scrutiny of planning inspectors.

Any failures to comply can delay builds, drive up costs and prove disastrous later if a completed build is found to have structural defects that make it unsafe.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking to extend or improve your current property, are building your dream home from the foundation, or are completing a commercial property development, you’ll have to meet strict building control rules.

That’s where we come in.

We are experts in building regulations and can provide Independent Building Control inspections.

Our Building Control Inspectors are approved by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and provide support and guidance throughout the construction stages of your building project.

How does the building control process work?

Once your completed application has been approved by the local planning authority you’ll get an inspection service plan, which lays out the stages of the project that will need an inspection.

At each stage, you’ll need to inform the local council and planning authority when you reach an inspection stage, and also when the work has been completed so they can carry out a final inspection.

Once the final inspection has been completed, you’ll be issued a completion certificate.

Why you need building control?

Whether you need building control will depend on your individual project, but for major construction projects – whether residential or commercial – you’ll need to apply for building regulations so the local planning authority and carry out checks on the site to ensure the work is compliant.

I found the staff at ABC+ to be courteous throughout my engagement with them. They took on board my disability and were flexible in their approach in order to achieve a satisfactory outcome. I cannot fault their professionalism … More and their respond time was excellent.

I cannot recommend ABC+ more highly. In a very grey world of deeming a converted victorian flat a new build property they have taken their time and patience to help me understand everything and exceeded my expectations on … More everything they said start to finish. Every single member of staff I spoke to was absolutely excellent. In the process of finding a product I spoke to at least 3 other competitors and was let down time and again after a lengthily process with overly complicated procedures. Lucky enough for me I was referred to ABC+ and not only will I be referring them to other developers, I will be using them shortly again too.
