Our Privacy Policy describes how we at Professional Consultants Certificate trading as Architects Certificate and ABC+ Warranty uses and protects your personal information.

We take your privacy seriously and we will always manage your personal information responsibly.

We reserve the right to update our Privacy Policy at any point so it would be a good idea for you to check back on to our website every now and again to review any changes to our Privacy Policy. 

Your Personal Details

We gather and process your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and any relevant data protection legislation.

Personal data may be used by us, Evo or CGICE (our insurers) or third parties for underwriting and claims purposes and in order to administer the policy. We and Evo  or CGICE will ensure that personal data is kept secure, is used only for the purpose for which it was supplied and is retained only for as long as necessary.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller and are listed on the Register of Data Controllers under registration number ZA268556.

email/ telephone/postal system to enable us to assess your demands and needs, administer your requests and allow us to forward documentation to assist you with our services that you are seeking.

We do not rent or sell your personal information to any third party without explicit permission or unless ordered by a court of law.

Telephone calls may be recorded for our joint protection and may be monitored to improve our customer service level and to provide ongoing staff training. When you request to make a payment via the telephone, please note that we do not record phone calls at this time or keep any written or printed details of your bank account details. You will however receive an automated email from our payment platform at Worldpay to confirm that the payment has been successfully made.

How we use your information 

We will only use your information provided to us for as long as is deemed necessary or for the term of the policy certificate or service that we have provided for example: If we have issued our ABC+ Warranty Certificate we may be required to store your information for up to 12 years or the term of the policy whichever is the lesser.

If we are providing you with our ABC+ Warranty quotation, we will also be required to share your information with our Principal at Ten Insurance Company Limited whose privacy policy can be viewed here

We may also use your information to carry out credit checks via Experian and to perform where necessary checks for Money Laundering and or prevention of other Financial Crimes as detailed on the FCA website as follows: www.fca.org.uk/firms/financial-crime

We may use your information to contact you to provide you with details of any changes to your policy or service that we have provided. We may also notify you to any changes of our business such as: contact details or change of address. We may share your information with the purchasers or the seller’s mortgage lender, conveyancing solicitors but only with your written permission will the latter be done.

To enable us to process any claim or complaint that you may have we will share your information with our insurers of the policy provided and with our legal representative. As some of our products are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) we may be required to share your information during any future FCA audits by the FCA or by our Principal at Ten Insurance Company Limited.

If you have completed our online form for a request for a quotation, this form provides the ability to subscribe (opt-in) to receiving future emails from ourselves. If you opt-in to receiving email communications from us, then we may send information to you on our promotional and discounted offers, products or services. You can of course opt out if you do not wish to receive this information, to do this, simply reply to any of our emails with the words ‘No thanks’.

The use of Cookies

You have the right to get a copy of the information that is held about you. This is known as a subject access request.

This right of subject access means that you can make a request under the General Data Protection Regulation to any organisation processing your personal data. The Act calls these organisations ‘data controllers’.
